This power can heat the house in continuous cold of -30 Celsius. The power requirement for instant hot water is at least 20 kW. There is extra heat loss through ventilation. The sun's effect is not accounted for. * For a valid comparison, a house with multiple levels has to provide a similar layout and gross internal area as a single level house. This means that the layout must account for the stair (at least 20 m2). * The most efficient house shape is a cube because the cube has the minimum amount of (outer) area for a given volume, which means that it has the minimum area through which it loses heat. * Basaltic fiber and expanded polystyrene (EPS) can't sustain heavy weights, like poured concrete, while aerated concrete and extruded polystyrene (XPS) can.
